Kade Stanzilis, LPCC

Interest:

My goal as your therapist is help you understand, explore, and challenge painful stories and thought patterns, and support you as you create and practice alternatives that are empowering and authentic to you. I believe people can make choices to live in more alignment with their values and deepest desires for connection, joy, and ease. I am particularly grateful to work with teens and adults from marginalized backgrounds, especially those who are LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, disabled, and neurodivergent, as well as those struggling with substance use and recovery.

Approach:

To do this, I draw on Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), which provides a framework for understanding how interpersonal relationships, cultural backgrounds, and systems of oppression and resilience, shape the way you participate in your life. I believe that mutually empowering relationships, including the client-counselor relationship, can foster growth and healing. I combine this framework with a person-centered approach to be able to provide a supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic space.

Background:

I earned a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with an emphasis in addictions and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado under the supervision of Kelley Harrow, LAC, LPC, SEP, ACS, and Valarie Bruno, LPC, RPT-S, CAS, ADHD-CCSP.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find me wheel throwing (pottery), crocheting, or riding my bike.

Professional Memberships: The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
