Jess Shepherd, LPCC
Hello! I’m Jess (she/her). I bring warmth, curiosity, and relational presence to the therapy space, grounded in a deep respect for your lived experience. I believe that healing happens in connection—and that safety, collaboration, and authenticity are the foundation of meaningful therapeutic work.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), which centers mutual empowerment, empathy, and the importance of relationships in our mental health. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my work, alongside evidence-based practices such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches to support each client’s unique path toward growth.
I work with adults and couples navigating trauma (including PTSD and complex trauma), substance use and recovery, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have particular experience working with combat veterans and those seeking deeper connection in their intimate relationships. I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures.
