Emma Samusi, Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Psychotherapy Intern
Emma is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Psychotherapy Intern at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Her work is grounded in a depth-oriented, psychodynamic framework of care, with a focus on the whole person and how early relationships and life experiences shape present patterns, emotions, and sense of self.
She takes a relational, trauma-informed, and integrative approach, incorporating somatic (body-mind) awareness and narrative exploration. Emma is passionate about co-creating a safe, attuned therapeutic space where clients can deepen self-understanding, explore their experiences at a pace that honors their body's wisdom, and engage both emotional and embodied aspects of their life.
In her work, Emma may explore themes such as relational patterns, emotional regulation, identity development, and the impact of past experiences on present life. She holds deep care in her work with individuals navigating concerns related to embodied experience, relationships, identity integration, shame, dissociation, and sexual abuse.
Emma earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from California State University, Sacramento. Combined with her graduate studies in psychology, she brings a holistic, mind-body perspective to her work and seeks to offer a space where embodied experience and sense of meaning can be explored at a pace that honors each client's story.
She looks forward to partnering with you and feels honored to step into your story with care and curiosity.
In her free time, Emma enjoys staying active through exercise, time in nature, playing volleyball, skiing, biking, and travel. And she values time with close family and friends.
