Bre Abel, Social Work Intern, CAT
Bre Abel (she/her) is a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) currently training toward dual licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and expects to graduate in May 2026. Bre brings experience from a range of settings, including residential treatment, hospital environments, foster care, and forensic systems.
Bre’s work is grounded in the belief that healing is not linear and looks different for everyone. She values a systems-oriented perspective, recognizing the ways family dynamics, cultural context, and broader social systems shape each person’s experiences. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, Bre strives to meet individuals with empathy, curiosity, and respect.
Her clinical style is integrative, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed practices. Bre is especially passionate about reducing barriers to care and creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel heard, supported, and empowered. Whether navigating recovery, life transitions, interpersonal issues, or the impacts of trauma, Bre is committed to walking alongside clients on their unique path toward healing.
