C.R.A.F.T.: Supporting Loved Ones with Addiction in Colorado Springs
If you love someone who’s struggling with substance use, you know how hard it can be. Maybe you’ve tried everything—talking, setting boundaries—and still feel stuck. You want to help, but you also want to protect your own health and peace of mind.
You’re not alone. There’s a way forward.
C.R.A.F.T. (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) is a proven, compassionate approach that teaches you how to support your loved one’s recovery while also caring for yourself. Created by Dr. Robert Meyers, C.R.A.F.T. focuses on building connection instead of conflict—and it works.
What You’ll Learn in C.R.A.F.T.
Over the course of 12 weekly group sessions, you’ll discover practical skills and fresh perspectives, like:
Walking alongside your loved one at any stage of their recovery journey to foster change, not conflict.
Communicating in ways that open doors and encourage connection.
Supporting healthy choices while letting go of what you can’t control.
Avoiding patterns that unintentionally make substance use easier.
Allowing natural consequences to happen when appropriate.
Making self-care a priority so you can stay grounded and strong.
Focusing your energy where it’s most effective to help your loved one.
The group is led by trained professionals who guide friends and family members through practical strategies for healthier, more positive interactions with a loved one struggling with substance use. With compassion and expertise, they’ll help you learn new ways to communicate, set boundaries, and encourage change—while also making space for your own wellbeing.
